Here is not peace,
not the make-believe peace
of the rest of the world,
Here alone the war still exists,
here stand the lost years
Not been fullfilled
they are marching,
their way is far;
it will take long,
but it leads forward
They are marching
a dark army,
the longest way,
into the heart.
here the unlived life
that finds no rest, cries
here the strength and the will
of a youth that died
poured out in one, upon the night
they are marching,
their way is far;
it will take long,
but it leads forward
they are marching,
their way is far;
it will take long,
but it leads forward
It will take many years –
but what is time to them?
they come–
And now the wind is still there
on the desolate, dark waste;
it blows and blows, above are the clouds
the sky, the fields
and the endless wide plains
with the trenches
and shell holes
and crosses.
Blistering blackened death metal with haunting melody lines throughout. The melody never overcomes but rather gives hypnotizing testimony to the churning rhythms threatening to pull the listener below the waves. This is music by which to summon the Great Old Ones. Robert Royer
The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity.

Blackbraid quickly followed up their 2022 debut in 2023 with more native folk infused furious black metal. This is by no means a sophomore slump as it is equally excellent, methodical, melodical, and approachable as the first record. 9/10 RJ
What an impressive piece of black metal. This one-man hurricane is pure art. Sgah‘gahsowáh creates an haunting atmosphere. He puts so much soul in his music. Sælzer Bub
